BENIGHT: PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE Beyond the 100th Chapter

WEBSERIAL CELEBRATION! These days the internet has no shortage of real life drama that only serves to send us into doom scrolling and panic tweeting all the day long. But there are places to turn when you need a little escape. That's where WebSeries come into play.  These written serials, stylized as text-based soap operas, are hardly new. They're places for lovers of the soap genre to immerse themselves into old school love stories, mysteries and even a witch's curse or two. It's truly a labor of love by the writers of these works and for any series creator to continue to produce episode after episode, year after year it is no small feat, considering it's all done for free and as a hobby. Case in point, series like FOOTPRINTS and ONE DAY AT A TIME have been in the game more than 20 years. Imagine the challenges in keeping with continuity for that long. Any show with various writers could recognize the magnitude of such a body of work, much less one person doing it...

SUMMER PREVIEWS GALORE

When we think of the Soap Opera we think of the television version first, then there are the new wave of audio dramas that have taken the internet by storm. But there is still the great, quick, bingeworthy Text-Based series that, in the last few months, has grown exponentially to feed our ever soap craving soap minds. When THE PHIX FILES first started back in 2023, there were only 6 series. That has more than doubled with two new series headed for our screens THIS SUMMER! Not only has  Casey Hutchison returned to the written world of drama (along with many other projects) with WHISPERS IN WILLOW CREEEK , but  JACK EDINGTON is back too! There are no bigger events in soapdom than a giant, glitzy, over-the-top, dramatic wedding! Here you'll find long suffering super-couples or super-couples-to-be finally saying "I do" under the most extra ways imaginable.  Sometimes they go off without a hitch, sometimes what goes off is the sound of a gun! OR WORSE, like Ben & Ciara's wedding on DAYS OF OUR LIVES,  a bomb! More on that later.  Every soap wedding after 1981 has Luke & Laura of GENERAL HOSPITAL to thank!
