NOVEMBER SWEEPS

COVER STORY
ONE DAY AT A TIME
DANGEROUS DAWN

One Day at a Time is known for its incredibly intricate and wild storylines that bring nostalgia from the good 'ol days of 1990's daytime & primetime dramas. Those were the empirical days of baby switches, secret identities, mind control evil twins and just about anything under the soap opera sun that would give viewers a thrill. ODAAT has cornered this market, and so, nothing is off limits in Twin Peaks.

Which leads us to what's going down with Cheresa and Dawn. The couple have been through A LOT and now is no different. As we recall, Cheresa and Dawn’s relationship hit a rough patch when Dawn left town and Cheresa began to see Chantel. Dawn soon returns and Cheresa reunites with her leaving Chantel out of luck. From there Dawn began receiving threatening text messages from what everyone believed was a jilted Chantel only for everyone to discover Chantel was actually missing and possibly dead (they found her severed foot in her abandoned car—YIKES!)

Things get crazier from there, and we got a quick and lucky chance to hit up writer/creator Dallas Walsh to find out more about this wild mystery that’s quickly gaining steam.

PHIX: Thank you so much for giving us a quick moment of your time to give us the details Dallas. Lets dig right in! Dawn’s spiral began probably around the time after she was working on her report in the prison and also Chantel’s disappearance and possible murder. There were crazy text messages, many violent in nature too. Basically it sent Dawn into what seemed like a paranoid state. On edge. Will we begin to see more of these dots connect?

DALLAS: First, thanks for having me back PHIX! I always love getting to talk to you about the world of web-series, and thank you for always putting together such a great e-magazine. It really adds to the world of web-series that we are trying to create online, and it's fun for the fans to get these inside looks at what happens behind the scenes.

The truth is, this story has been a long time in the making. I was listening to a True Crime podcast in 2023. The premise was that two women were in love with the same man. The woman that he started dating started getting threatening messages from the women he left. The woman he left, however, turned up dead, and the messages continued to be sent to the woman he was dating. Turns out, the woman he stayed with was pretending to be the ex and was using a burner phone to send herself the threatening messages. She was caught and jailed, and he ended up alone as one woman was dead and the other was in jail. I thought to myself "What a twisted tale", but I wanted to do something like on ODaaT, which is where the storyline came from. But from there, I had to set it up correctly with characters and premise.

This is where the idea of Dawn working with the prison inmates came from. I thought, "She could visit Daisy and Tara", and we all know that Tara is batshit crazy, and has a vendetta against Cheresa. Slowly, we have seen Dawn behave weirder and weirder over the last few months. For the November sweeps, especially the daily episodes, we will see all the dots connected about how, what, and why Dawn is behaving this way.

PHIX: Cheresa finding the burner phone that might have been used to send Dawn all the taunting messages was a MAJOR moment because it finally gave the audience a big chunk of the puzzle.  Cheresa seemed to still feel there was a logical explanation. Was she just blinded by her love for Dawn or has she been on Cheresa’s suspect radar all along?

DALLAS: You have to understand that there has been no reason for anyone, especially Cheresa, to suspect Dawn of any wrongdoing here. Why would Cheresa, who is head over heels in love with Dawn, think that Dawn would be sending herself threatening messages? It wouldn't make sense to Cheresa, or anyone, if you stop and think about. The audience would realize that it is a red-flag, but for the characters, it would haven't made sense to suspect Dawn. For the majority of the series, Dawn has been a very good woman. She had a minor blimp in that road after she saw Adam and Natasha having sex. That's when she wanted to get revenge on Natasha, so she told Paige to pretend that she had sex with Shane, but that was exposed in the statutory rape trial. Since then, Dawn has been a very good character, so no one would have reason to be suspicious of her.

PHIX: Right, I didn't mean to imply Cheresa did know, I guess I should have framed that as a possibility of what's to come. Moving on, Dawn has for the most part been able to keep this dark side of herself hidden and only recently has someone (poor Cheresa of all people) been put into danger. Will there be more citizens of Twin Peaks in Dawn’s bullseye?

DALLAS: As the month of November sweeps unfolds, you will see more people get involved in this storyline. If you remember in October, there was a big reveal that Daisy switched the DNA paternity test results with Tinah. Chris, Trenyce, and Andrew are all furious with her, but Daisy has been in communication with Cheresa about how odd Dawn has been talking. In the October 29th release, we Daisy listening to a voicemail that Cheresa left her about being concerned about Dawn. This will fuel Daisy to get involved and she will go to Trenyce for help – but will Trenyce be able to put aside her differences with Daisy? Will she believe Daisy's theory about what is going on with Dawn? And if they are able to work together, will they be able to save Cheresa? There is so much at stake, and with the rift between Daisy & Trenyce, it will be interesting to see if they can work together in this capacity.

PHIX: There’s still the Tara factor too. Although she’s in prison, I don’t think we’ve seen the last of her. What the odds she’s link to both Chantal’s death and Dawn’s Jekyll and Hyde?

DALLAS: Tara's presence looms large in this storyline, and it would be foolish for anyone to think that we have seen the last of her. I don't want to give too much away before the episodes air, but Tara does play in a role in what has happened. But to understand that link, you must read, especially the daily episodes starting November 03.

PHIX: The danger seems to be just starting up — are we in for another death in Twin Peaks?

DALLAS: There is a death involving this story in 2026. But the victim might not be who you think it is. And the killer reveal is also an epic reveal … but that's another sweeps away!

FOOTPRINTS MURDER MYSTERY
Are We Closer To The Truth?

The masterfully slow drip of revelations that has developed since the devilish Loretta Ragan was mysteriously killed has been one of the best stories in the WebSerial world! The suspect list has been whittled down to Travis Fisher but the evidence on him is shaky at best.

First of all, why would Travis hide the same chemical that was used to poison Loretta in his own gym bag & keep it in his own home instead of getting rid of it? Second, he's kept his story straight pretty much from the get-go, never once breaking from it.

Now that he's lawyered up with Conrad on his side, a new theory has come to light that may be a bit of a shocker if true. Conrad's Spidey senses tell him that Rosie's sudden departure from King's Bay to Seattle seems too convenient. Her alibi could be on shaky ground too if Conrad (and Landon for that matter) can poke some holes into it. Not only that but I've wondered the same thing.

If anyone had the balls to finally take out Loretta it might be Rosie who's gone through hell in the last few years because of Loretta's wicked games especially everything surrounding little Gabrielle. Which brings me back to her own motives. Example: the person seen going into the Spencer’s house was someone who looked a lot like Elly -- the lawyer who helped get Gabrielle back with Molly. Perhaps this is all a giant crisscross who-done-it and Rosie meant to pin the murder on Elly but accidently hid the evidence in Travis' bag only for her own husband to get stuck with the crime!

Stay tuned for this one, because it's getting REALLY good. Catch Up on all the drama in King’s Bay Below!

BLISSFUL'S NEW FACE IN TOWN
Ana Castellanos

The new face in Atlas Falls comes with quite the glamours detailed background as any good soap character would. Ana, in just one episode, has shown that she's ready to get herself settled into the business side of BLISSFUL but there's always something brewing in the background.

Under her polished veneer she may be more than just a fashionable HBIC.

In a BLISSFLUL BTS Blog post, Ana's writer Ryan said "On paper, she’s perfect: Cambridge-educated, successful CEO of a real estate empire, philanthropic, impeccably connected. But there’s something beneath that polished surface that makes you wonder what she’s really capable of."

She's already been connected to Belle Devonshire, who’s mentioned how Ana was her mentor at Cambridge. They seem close but Ana has that X factor that makes you think she may be more trouble for Belle and the Devonshires than what she gives up at firs introduction. She could be trouble, and Atlas Falls has no shortage of that!

NEW MONSTERS/OLD FOES
To Benight & Beguile's Return

Returning for a heart pounding BOOK8, Benight's taking things to a whole different environment. Replacing the fog covered shore of Welshport Island for the windswept Scottish Highlands, this collection of chapters will send the center doomed romance of the series, Sebastian and Evie, into a place of no returns. In more ways than one!

Evie's decision to focus on being a good (and more importantly present!) mother to her son after so much time apart was a gut punch to the two men who’ve been vying for her love for years. This powerful choice left Matthew broken hearted and Sebastian in a state of loss

Sebastians's desperation to have his family back may have gone too far. He's kidnapped Evie and Gabriel and taken them into a very dark world of a vampire cult that Johnathon DeVinana clued him in on.

As Sebastian sinks deeper into his new life he’ll find a kinship to those around him but it’ll leave Evie open to envious creatures who not only see her as a threat to the world they've built but also a threat to keeping such a powerful figure like Sebastian under their control.

It will be a treacherous journey not only for Evie but for Matthew who is well on his way to finding the woman he loves.

Look for new characters Roman Ashby, Dominique DoShall and Hope Winterborn to bring in the extra layers of drama and danger! CATCH UP BELOW!

EUPHORIA
ONE YEAR LATER

One of the best told serials out there has got to be EUPHORIA by Rob Hill. In it's very short existence, EUPHORIA has gifted us a diverse cast of characters giving us impeccably written stories of love and lust and power mixed with a family rivalry that stretch back decades. This family thread is one that we're slowly uncovering as secrets sprout up locking down thicker roots to an already powerfully built story.

At the center of the serial is the Blake/Locke clan who have certainly made their mark in this year. Most notably for me, is the dynamically complex relationship between Shannon Blake-Nelson and her mother Grace Locke. The turbulence between the two is fiery at time, and one their one liners and jabs never miss.

Grace's story is one of those juicy soap tales of the three R's: Retribution, Redemption, and most of all Revenge. She's scheming and plotting and trying to get back what she believes she built, and at the time same time she's attempting to outwit and outsmart her ex-husband: the source of all her anger. Meanwhile Shannon can't stand to be in the same room as her estranged mother whom she believes abandoned the family but being they must cross paths due to circumstances revolving around Grace's power moves fireworks are inevitable.

Grace isn't a bad person. Deep down somewhere Shannon may come to terms with that too. Reading their relationship unfold is one of the best parts of the serial. CONGRATUATIONS Euphoria! May we see many more episodes to come.
